How that affects this list. Products from brands we have a commercial relationship with are listed first. Products we earn little or nothing from can still appear, lower down, when they belong in the comparison.
How the order is set. The top three slots are named picks — best overall, most popular, best value — and each states the measurement it won on. Every product after them is ordered by one fixed formula: the Amazon star rating and review count, applied identically. No brand can pay for a slot, a badge or a score.

Why trust this list
We do not rate these ourselves. Every claim on this page is tied to public Amazon rating and review-theme data, and carries the count it came from.
A dehumidifier that fits in a bathroom carries a tank that fits in a bathroom, and a full tank switches it off. WinnerReviews counted 610 of 1,043 mentions of tank size and emptying positive across 3 of these 4 units, 58%. The three compressor units here come with a drain hose; where it can run downhill to the tub or shower drain, the tank stops being a chore.
610 of 1,043 mentions, 3 of 4 units
WinnerReviews counted 393 of 1,865 durability and reliability mentions positive across 3 of these 4 units, 21%. Most of those mentions are about the Pro Breeze mini, rated 20% positive on durability across 1,800 mentions, and the complaint is the same each time: it works well, then stops within months. Keep the receipt, and register the warranty on whichever unit you buy.

Small dehumidifiers are quieter than their basement cousins, and owners say so: WinnerReviews found 2,380 of 2,589 noise mentions positive across all 4 units here, 92%. In a bathroom next to a bedroom that still matters, and the counts on each card show which units owners actually forget are running.
2,380 of 2,589 mentions, all 4 units
We went through every review theme Amazon publishes for these four machines — 11,734 counted comments — and put the number beside each claim we make from it. Two things hold across all four: noise level is where they deliver, 92% positive across 2,589 mentions, and moisture removal is what none of them has solved, at 78%. What separates them is everything below.

Overview
This is our top pick for a bathroom because it fits where a bathroom has room. It is the slimmest compressor unit on the page, narrow enough to stand beside a vanity or just inside a linen closet, and its owners rate its noise better than anything else we list. People run it day and night in home offices and bedrooms without noticing it, and describe the air turning drier within hours. Every theme Amazon publishes for it is positive, which is rare in this category.
Two cautions. Its record is short, a few hundred ratings, so the clean scores have had less time to meet a second summer. And it is more machine than most bathrooms need on most days, so leave it on auto rather than continuous, or it will keep drying a room that is already dry. It restarts on its own after a power cut, and if its hose can run downhill to the tub or shower drain, the tank stops mattering.
Amazon scores every review theme on this listing positive, so its data gives us no complaint to report. That is worth weighing alongside how few ratings it has.

Overview
This is the small compressor for people who want to check on a bathroom without walking into it. App and voice-assistant control let you see the humidity and move the target from anywhere, and owners in very humid places, from New Orleans to the Pacific Northwest, describe it keeping up. The instructions get singled out as thorough, and several owners say it is quieter than the machine it replaced.
The tank is the catch. It holds well under half a gallon, so in a bathroom that steams up daily it fills quickly, and the included hose is how you live with it. Durability is mixed, with units described stopping within a year or two, and a few owners report the app connection dropping. Amazon lists it beside hOmeLabs' bigger sizes, and some of its review snippets seem to describe a larger hOmeLabs, so we have not leaned on those.

KNKA's unit is the one owners buy for a room that already has mold, and one reports, almost a year on, that the humidity is down and the mold problems are gone. Its auto mode targets fifty percent straight out of the box, a sensible setting for a bathroom, and another owner checked its readings against separate monitors and found they matched. It rolls on wheels and looks tidy enough to leave out.
Size is the theme owners split on: it is smaller than many expect, with a tank under a gallon, so the hose or KNKA's optional external tank matters in a bathroom that steams up every day. Reliability is mixed, with one owner reporting it stopped after a year, and a few say it never collected water at all. Check that water is reaching the tank in the first few days, while a return is easy.

Overview
Pro Breeze is the most-reviewed bathroom dehumidifier in Amazon's results, and its owners explain why in a few words: tiny, nearly silent and cheap to run. They describe a windowless bathroom smelling fresh again, winter windows that stopped fogging and a musty closet drying out, and its noise praise alone outnumbers all the review mentions of the other three units together. It is a different kind of machine, though, and that matters more than its stars.
It removes up to nine ounces of water a day, about half a pint, where the compressor units above are rated in pints by the dozen. That suits a closet or a bathroom that steams up briefly; one owner found it not strong enough for a small windowless bathroom. Durability is the theme Amazon rates negative, with many units described stopping within months. We rank it last for that, and because we have no affiliate link for it.

The best-selling bathroom dehumidifiers on Amazon are thermoelectric minis, and they print their capacity in ounces. The compressor units print theirs in pints. Side by side on a product page, nine ounces and thirty-two pints look like two numbers of a similar kind. They are not.
Daily water removal, converted to one unit
| Unit | As printed | Measured at | In pints a day | Tank |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SEMKAP 32 Pint | 32 pints/day | 95°F, 90% RH | 32 | 2.5 L (0.66 gal) |
| hOmeLabs 1,800 Sq Ft | 8 pints/day | 80°F, 60% RH | 8 (24 at 95°F, 90% RH) | 0.4 gal |
| KNKA 34 Pint | 34 pints/day | 95°F, 90% RH | 34 | 0.79 gal |
| Pro Breeze Mini | 9 oz/day | Not stated | About 0.56 | 16 oz |
Figures as printed on each product's Amazon listing when we collected it, October 2026; pints converted at 16 US fl oz to the pint. These are manufacturer claims; we have not measured any of them.
Converted, the Pro Breeze's nine ounces is about half a pint a day. The compressor units here are rated at 8 to 34 pints, most of them at the hot, wet test that flatters every machine, but even the hOmeLabs' cooler-condition 8 pints is many times the mini's figure. The table lines them up.
That does not make a mini useless. For a closet, or a bathroom that steams up for ten minutes a day and has a working fan, half a pint can be enough, and owners describe exactly that. For a windowless bathroom where the walls stay wet, choose a compressor.
A shower puts a burst of water vapor into a small room in a few minutes, faster than any dehumidifier on this page can take it out. The EPA's mold guidance includes venting bathrooms to the outside, and an exhaust fan running during and after the shower does the heavy lifting.
The dehumidifier is for what the fan leaves behind: the damp towels, the grout that never quite dries, the bathroom with no fan or no window at all. Close the door while it runs, so it is drying that room and not the hallway.
A dehumidifier is an electrical appliance in the wettest room of the house. Stand it where shower spray and an overflowing basin cannot reach it, plug it straight into a GFCI-protected outlet, which US electrical code requires in bathrooms, and skip extension cords across a wet floor.
If you use the drain hose, make sure it runs downhill the whole way to the tub or shower drain; a hose that rises or loops holds water and the tank fills anyway. Set the target around 50%. The EPA advises keeping indoor humidity below 60%, and ideally between 30% and 50%.
Minis have a temperature floor, too: the Pro Breeze listing says it works best between 59°F and 86°F and not at all below 41°F, so it is no help in an unheated bathroom in winter.
